Description

This is one of my very favorite pipe designs to make since 2013- The Hatfield. My personal take on the Devil Anse shape made popular by Bill Paxton calling Kevin Costner (you Devil Anse) in the mini series Hatfields and McCoys in which Kevin's character smoked a small canted pipe. I have made these with different finishes from hand tooled to sandblasted and my favorite, the smooth.

This glassy smooth pipe has my signature dye choice of brown fading to black around the rim very organically. This block of briar wood has exceptional flame grain wrapping around the bowl and continuing down the shank with gorgeous Birdseye underneath. For the mouthpiece I wanted to make something very comfortable to clench so I used German ebonite with an integral tenon to make room for a short saddle and large enough bite zone. For me personally this is the perfect pipe for my active lifestyle!
